The Minds Eye of Your Dream Client
Hey, everybody. Bill Baylis here.
I had an interesting conversation with two different clients, and they had a different and probably the most common perception is that they believe their job is to make their clients happy, and I want to challenge that just a bit. For anybody who thinks your job is to make people happy; that means to create joy. I'm not sure that's exactly what a lot of clients are looking for, especially if you're in the service-based business and working closely with other business owners or maybe some homeowners, or if you're a CPA. And you're definitely probably working with either the individuals or definitely business owners. And I'm not sure happiness is what they're looking for you to provide. But I do believe in something else, and this is a different perspective.
Our job is to create good feelings, and good feelings are different than making somebody happy. Good feelings are supposed to help you feel taken care of, kind of like a doctor. I'm not sure if you're in love with every one of your doctors, but you have to make sure that you feel taken care of, that you feel understood, and that in the end, they feel a lot better off with you. The fact that you guide them, the fact that they understand the process and the steps you're going to take. So think this through. Is it happiness, or how do you create the proper good feelings to help people buy from you and feel that they're better off with you than without you?
I'm Bill Baylis and create success on purpose.
